Stuffed Coffee nymph pattern

I have been playing with this little attractor nymph for about a week. Finally have it where I want it, this is a color variation of the Stuffed Olive.

Hook: TMC3761 Size 14 thru 18
Bead: Luccent Tungsten Coffee color
Thread: 8/0 Rusty brown
Tail: Coq De Lon Fibers
Rib: X-SM Gold with SM Copper Brown wire
Abdomen: 8/0 Rusty brown thread colored with a sepia prismacolor marker. Just on the top of the abdomen.
Wing Case: Lagartun Flat Mini Braid in Olive
Thorax: Rusty Brown Dubbing - Dubbed in a dubbing loop

  1. Nice! Looks like it would work great as a general mayfly. Nice little bug.

  2. I like how the dubbing comes out on these-- what do you usually use?

  3. Brian,

The dubbing I'm using is Arizona synthitic dubbing from Metz. The look comes more form the way I apply the dubbing, I'm using a dubbing loop for the thorax. It gives a really spiky look to the thorax
