I've been fiddling around with patterns that are based off of Tak's crytal chironomid and the yankee buzzer as well, with good results - especially red. Funny that you mention the wing buds - that is the very area that I would like to improve as well. Brian Yamauchi takes an elaborate approach on his ultra realistic chironomids with forming an actual wing bud outer frame that is then filled with a dyed flexement mixture. Really cool but labor intensive. I've been playing with cutting white razor foam to shape and tying in by the tip. Just an idea.<br />Are you using Oral-B superfloss for the breathers?
